Learning to value my own life choices

ree

I have lived and worked both in the US and in Europe. I have transitioned from a career in the Military to a civilian one. have over 15 years’ worth of professional experience in multiple different program management and acquisition related. I have given up a decent, but devastatingly unfulfilling job to pursue something that reflects the kind of person I want to be and the role I want to have. In the midst of this career transition, I am traveling this beautiful country with my family. I understand what it takes to make big changes.

We call ourselves full-timers, that is families or individuals who have ditched their sticks and bricks (houses) for a life on the road. Some might see our life choices as irresponsible, flitting from one place to the next with no real plans, or sense of stability. I see it as seizing and opportunity. I have seen and learned amazing things along our journey about our wonderful country and its people. The friends we have made along the way are like family.

I can definitely say I took some leaps across adulthood. Leaping into a military career and then leaping out of the stability it provides. I am proud to have been able recognized the environments that take me away from my values. Now learning to proudly share my experiences, both the good and the bad as simply part of the road to finding and becoming my authentic self.

We get one shot at this thing called life and I am not afraid to off script to make the most of it.
